Middle School Week 2

For the 2nd activitiy, we would like you to post one of your favorite short poems or create your own poem and post it to the blog. Don't forget to tell us who wrote the poem if your posting somebody elses work.

Middle School Week 1 Activity - Magazine Article

For your first activity, we would like you to read an article from a magazine of your choice. After finishing the article, please reply to this post. Include in your post your first name, the name of the magazine, the name of the article, a short summary of what it was about and your opinion about the article. Your opinion may include how the article made you feel, if you agree or disagree with the article, or how you might use the information from the article in the future. These post may be as long or as short as you would like them to be. I will be checking each post as they are submitted.

Middle School Activities

We hope to see quite a few of you former students in the Middle School Library each Thursday. Wether you come in to check out books each week or just come in to claim your prizes, we look forward to your comments on the blogs. The activities we are going to ask you to do this year will be posted to this site each week. There will be a variety of materials we will ask you to read. After finishing each weeks activity we will ask you to post a comment to that weeks blog. The comment will include what you read and how you felt about it. That's it!!! Most of the activities will be fairly short and the goal being to read a variety of things that you can choose.

Summer Library is open!!

We officially opened our doors on Tuesday - and welcomed many families to our Open Library program. Over 400 children are registered, so our time here should be pretty busy!

Our activity this summer for the younger children is a bingo board (READO, actually). Our older students will be asked to participate in this blog.

Summer Library Dates & Times

Summer Library at Pine Meadow Elementary School begins on Tuesday, June 12 and runs through Thursday, August 9th. All community children are invited to attend! In order to provide challenging reading materials for older students, the Middle School media center will be open on Thursdays throughout the summer. Any students entering grade 5 or older may check books out at the Middle School.

Pine Meadow Hours:
Tuesdays: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Wednesdays: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Thursdays: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Middle School Hours:
Thursdays: 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

We will be closed the week of July 2nd.

The Countdown begins.....

Our Summer Library program will be starting on June 12th. Attendees are asked to register ahead of time - or at least to register the first day they attend. A registration form is available here for you to download and complete. Please turn it in to Sartell's Community Education or to your child's teacher at PME or ORE.

WILD About Books!!

This summer we're getting WILD about Books! here at the Pine Meadow Media Center!

We will be open every week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and on Wednesday evenings so Sartell community elementary children will have a place to check out reading materials, enjoy book-related activities and READ!! We hope you'll be joining us!!

We begin on Tuesday, June 12 and continue through the 2nd week of August. Please sign up through Sartell Community Education, or by filling out a registration form here at the media center during your first visit.

School ends soon....prepare to get WILD!!
